The gap

Recovery tools are built for the crisis. Almost nothing is built for Tuesday.

There is a great deal of help available at the two extremes. There is the emergency — the hotline, the hospital, the intervention. And there is the long work — the counsellor, the meeting, the programme.

Between those two is where most people actually live. The ordinary Tuesday. The drive home that goes past the same pub it always has. The hour after work when the flat is quiet and nobody is expecting you anywhere.

That hour has no service attached to it. It is not an emergency, so nothing is triggered. It is not a session, so nobody is there. It is just an hour, and it is where recovery is quietly lost.

The hours

So we built something that is there for the ordinary hours.

Triggr knows the places that are dangerous for you, because you told it. When you get near one, it says so — before you are standing outside deciding, rather than after.

It counts the days you have done, and it lets you show that count to the people you choose, and to nobody else.

And when it matters, it can quietly let one of those people know that now would be a good time to call. Not what happened. Not where you are. Just that you might appreciate hearing from them.

The line

Some things we will not do, and will not be talked into.

A warning that you are near somewhere dangerous is never behind a payment. If a card expires, the alerts keep coming. That is not a feature we sell; it is the reason the app exists.

Your support people see exactly what you have chosen to show them and nothing else. Not your location. Not what you wrote. Not the name of the place that set an alert off — that would put your whereabouts on somebody else's lock screen.

And you can remove someone from your circle at any time, without them being told. We cannot tell the difference between a friendship that faded and someone getting away from a person they are afraid of, so we treat every removal as though it were the second one.

Who we are

A small company in regional New South Wales, building one thing properly.

Triggr is made by JBLZ Pty Ltd in Tamworth. We are not a large team and we are not trying to become one.

We are not clinicians, and Triggr is not therapy, a meeting, or medical care. It is built to sit alongside those, in the hours when none of them are in the room.

If something in the app is wrong, an actual person reads the email. There is no ticket queue to get lost in.

The longer version, in our own words.

Why We Exist

Most recovery tools feel like they were built almost 100 years ago. They are Shame-heavy, preachy, or act like everything will magically get better if you "just keep coming back to meetings" or "just call your sponsor."

Real life is not that simple. It is cravings at 5 PM, fights with people you love, promises you meant but did not keep, and the quiet moment where you think, "How did I end up here again?"

We built Triggr because people deserve support that actually fits how life works today. Support that is fast, honest, private, and practical.

And sometimes you need something that catches you slipping before you even realise it yourself.

No labels. No judgment. No twelve step pressure. Just tools that help you stay steady, rebuild trust, and move forward one decision at a time.

  • You are here because you have tried white knuckling it.
  • You have tried counting days.
  • You have tried doing it alone.
  • You might have even sat in a meeting or two.
  • Now you are ready for something that actually fits your life, not the other way around.

About Us

I built Triggr because I have been close enough to addiction, both personally and through the people I love, to understand how complicated it really is. I have seen how good people can lose themselves, how shame gets in the way of asking for help, and how most solutions either feel outdated, overwhelming, or designed for someone else's life.

I did not want another lecture. I did not want another guilt trip. And I definitely did not want another app that did nothing but count my days sober until I inevitably reset back to zero, as if watching a number drop could magically change my behavior.

I wanted something real. Something that helps in the moments that matter. Something that catches you early, keeps you steady, and makes it easier to rebuild your life, your habits, and your relationships.

So I pulled together a team of engineers, researchers, designers, and people with lived experience to build Triggr the way it should be built. Modern, honest, practical, and human.

We are not here to replace therapy, meetings, or any other support you use. We are here to bridge the gap between the person you want to be and the moments that usually pull you off track.

This company exists because people deserve help that is actually built for today. If Triggr makes even one person's day easier, steadier, or safer, then this is all worth it.

The homepage walks through one ordinary day, hour by hour. It is the quickest way to understand what this actually does.
